In order to qualify  to be a contestant of the Miss Homestead Scholarship Foundation, Inc.,  you must meet the following  requirements:

  • You must be a citizen of the United States of America and will remain such throughout my participation in the Miss America Program.
  • You must have been a resident in the 15-mile radius from the center of Homestead (Krome Ave and Mowry) for at least 6 months preceding the date of the local pageant.
  • You must supply proof of residency consisting of copies of 2 or more of the following: current Florida drivers license, current voters card, current lease, current utility bill with contestant am, proof of residency, most recent tax return.
  • If graduated from high school, you must have successfully completed one semester as a full time student attending college/university and presently a bona fide registered full time student and that no more than six months has elapsed between the completion of the first semester or have been employed full-time (at least 40 hours per week) in such state for at least 6 months preceding the date of the local/state pageant.
  • You must have never been married, always been a female, good moral character, are not pregnant nor have you ever been,  never been convicted and have no criminal charges pending, 17 years of age and a senior of high school and will not be over than 24 years old on January 31, 2002.
