An Official Preliminary to Miss Florida/Miss America Pageant
The Following is a list of qualifications for the MISS HOMESTEAD PAGEANT.
I do make the following statements and representations: I attest that:
I am a citizen of the United States of America
I have resided within twenty five (25) miles of the intersection of Krome Ave. and Mowry Street; known as 177th Ave. and S.W. 320 Street for at least six (6) months prior to the date of the pageant.
I am a female, born a female, single and have never been married
I am between the ages of 17 and 24 by the Labor Day immediately preceding the National Finals. (September)
I am of good moral character and have never been convicted of any crimes and have no charges pending against me at this time.
I am in good health and can, to the best of my knowledge, participate in all pageant activities.
Unless specifically waved in writing by the Miss America Pageant, I have not endorsed or contracted to endorse any products sold by the National and State Sponsors of the Miss America or Miss Florida Scholarship programs.
I have never been a previous Miss America State Finalist who competed in the National Finalists.
I have never been, nor am I presently pregnant.
I understand and realize that contestant eligibility will be consistent with the rules of the Miss Florida Pageant. I also understand that I must provide a copy of my birth certificate as well as proof of my education level upon submission of this application. Contestants must attend all training sessions, each Sunday from 1pm to 3:30 MANDITORY
All applicants must tryout even if they were a previous contestant.
I agree to abide by all of the rules of the local, state and National Miss America Pageant. In effect now or as announced hereafter.
I agree to participate in the series of event leading up to the final selection of Miss Homestead. I also agree to abide and be bound by the rules and regulations governing the finals of the Miss Homestead Scholarships and other prizes. Participation in the Miss Homestead Scholarship Pageant shall be understood to include all public appearances required of me by the pageant officials.

APPLICATION AND FACT SHEET MUST BE TYPED
You will have a specific tryout time and will be issued after receipt of the application and fact sheet.
This year we will only allow 12 contestants to participate in the 2005 pageant
You will be judged on the following criteria, including that stated in the above contract.
Overall appearance and physical fitness
Well roundedness
How well you follow directions
Talent
Please bring your own tape/cd to perform your tryout performance.
Please come dressed in Business Attire and bring talent clothes to change into if
necessary. (dressed as if you were at a job interview)
You must have a Platform Issue to compete in the preliminary, if you do not,
Now is the time to start one. A Platform is an issue or topic that you support and are an advocate for.
If you for any reason you cannot make the deadline tryout night, please call Maria Scott-Dunnigan to arrange a personal tryout and interview PRIOR to the night of tryouts.
